Walked into the Downers Grove location because my friend found her dress from there and had nothing but good things to say so I thought I would go in and check out the dress in the window. I recommend no one and I mean no one go to house of brides. For bridesmaid dresses I had so many problems with them. Dealing with different girls there. Only one girl knew what she was doing. My bridesmaids paid there dresses off in March and they NOW JUST came in. MY WEDDING IS IN TWO WEEKS! They still need to do alterations. The only reason I am giving one star is because they make you. I had nothing but problems from payment not being applied to my dress, to rudeness, to being misinformed. I finally called today to tell them I would like to have my card refunded and I would be going else where with my business. Dodging calls and emails, saying it takes 30 days an online order. This is ludicrous. I have never experienced worse customer service in my life. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

They immediately took my money for a dress they advertised, but do not have. In fact, according to ***, they don't actually have ANY dresses. "We receive most of our goods from the designers direct. Items may become unavailable or be discontinued by the designer without notification to us. We must have payment on orders prior to submitting them to the designers. Designers alone confirm availability of their goods. We are not a catalog warehouse... Read more

I received my dress exactly 4 days before my wedding. No I am not kidding. The dress I received was poor quality and all wrinkled up. The jacket that they claimed was my size was way too small, so that was a waste. I had to contact their customer several time threw email. They did respond and even called me bc they wanted sub the tiara that I ordered that for some reason the designer did not have in stock for another one that they had in stock... Read more

My fiance ordered a dress from their website, paid in full, and then was told the product was no longer in stock. She requested a refund, and they had no problem saying a refund was coming. It just never did. I called two weeks ago to check on the status and while they sound sincere on the phone, this company is out to scam people. I ordered my dress from HOB on January 28, 2015 and I checked back in May and the anticipated ship date from the manufactures to HOB was for the end of May!! As it it now the middle of July and I have still yet to here anything and cannot recieive a refund and or do I have a dress! When I spoke to someone she told me certain manufactures could take up to 26 weeks to and I have surpassed that time and still have no dress!! I have cried and cried... Read more
